Unrequited Love

I awoke to the tapping of the rain
Base pallets of heavenly gray clouds
Unveiled condensed mist into water droplets.

Abundantly they collided upon my windowpane
Lapsing into reverie down my sill
Collecting like ruminants
Of how I fell in love with you.

Each drop held my mind captive
Crashing and dispersing
Bestowed in aquatic vapor
Seeping into my flesh.

Lacing your fingers through mine
I felt your embrace ignite
As you lifted my hand
Down your face
To kiss your lips
Musing in unrequited love.
